I am a plan gone awry...
Man oh man, did I just royally screw myself. Well, a few times over, now that I think of it. I didnt' sleep til 5AM today, which caused me to come into work later...and then, I decided to take a nap, and overslept. I woke up at 10....man oh man, I'm jacked. At least I'm awake I guess...

So the bachelor party...it was great! Probably one of the most laid-back ones I've ever been to, but equally exhausting. It was the perfect type of party for my friend Alex. And he fully and sincerely appreciated it and had an incredible time. Most of the weekend was spent on the fishing trip. I got into SD on Friday night and we just grabbed a quick bite, walked around and hung out at a bar. Woke up at 4AM for the big fishing trip. Did a 3/4 day of fishing off the shores of Mexico. It was a TON of fun. a 3/4 day of fishing is practically a full day of activity. It's 11 hours on the boat...so we set off at 6AM and got back a little after 5PM. First-time fishing and I didn't fare too badly...caught 8 fish. Four were a little too small to keep, the other four comprised of a little team of 2 rock cod, 1 other one I can't really remember, but it was some type of cod, and a little sand dab(which is kindof a flat fish - you pretty much just cut off the head and pan-fry the little sucker). I had them fileted(sp?) instead of gutted and cleaned, which now I wish I had done, so I could have the whole fish. But anyway, it was awesome. I didn't really know what I was doin though...we drop the lines all the way to the bottom of the water, which is over 300 ft at the deeper parts and 150 ft deep in the shallows, where you catch whitefish; but I didn't catch any. Crazy thing about the deep fishing is that the fish are pretty dead when they come up to the surface because they get the bends and pretty much blow up from the inside. I never knew that. I did get sick for a bit though. We were on bonine; took it the night before and then an hour right before we took off. I think i was near to the 6 hour mark when I needed to take it again. I was at the front of the boat feeling a tiny bit nauseous. But I have a renewed love for gingerale, it helped A LOT, just enough to hold me over til the 2nd bonine kicked in. A second thing to sea-sickness is mind over matter. When I sat down towards the front of the boat, right in the middle, I was feeling it the most, cuz that's where the most rock happens. If you hang to one side, the movement is strictly up and down. But with the mind over matter part, I just got back up and decided to throw a line back into the water, which helped a great deal. Here's my catch of the day. I think this was the biggest of the ones I caught;

We were SO tired when we got back. Just showered up and napped til it was time to go to dinner. Great weekend though. Can't wait for the wedding!

7. All the stuff you’re doing that seems hard — it will be of use.
This is the first one that might not be as obvious. There were times in my life when work was hard, and I did it anyway, but hated it. I did it because I had to, but boy did it stress me out and leave me exhausted. Hard work isn’t as easy as I wanted it to be. But you know what? Every bit of hard work I did without knowing why I was doing it … it’s paid off for me in the long run. Maybe not right away, but I’m using skills and habits I learned during those times of high stress and long hours and tedious work — I use them all the time, and they’ve made me into the person I am today. Thank you, younger Leo!
